The operating mechanism of gantry crane mainly includes lifting mechanism, traveling operating mechanism, trolley operating mechanism and rotating mechanism. These operating mechanisms work together, so that the gantry crane can be flexible and accurate in a wide range of heavy loads, to adapt to different working environments and needs.

The traveling running mechanism of the gantry crane is the key part of the whole equipment moving on the ground track. Its design and operation directly affect the moving efficiency and stability of the gantry crane. It is responsible for the forward and backward movement of the whole gantry crane on the ground track, and is composed of a drive motor, a reducer, a wheel system and a track system;

The wheels are usually steel wheels that can roll on ground tracks. The number and configuration of the wheels are determined by the design and load capacity of the gantry crane.

The rail track is installed on the ground to provide a path for the trolley to run. The track needs to be flat and strong to ensure the smooth operation of the trolley.

The trolley operating mechanism is responsible for the left and right movement of the hook and the lifting mechanism on the gantry crane beam. Its function is to enable the lifting mechanism to move horizontally on the beam, thereby achieving accurate positioning and handling of materials.

It consists of a drive motor, a reducer, wheels and tracks.

The rail models used in the gantry crane’s trolley operating mechanism are generally light and medium.

The horizontal deflection value of the gantry crane wheel group is an important technical parameter of the gantry crane. The error value of the wheel group will cause the gantry crane to gnaw the rails, increase the running resistance, generate vibration and noise, increase the wear of the rails and wheel groups, and greatly reduce the service life of the gantry crane. Therefore, the allowable value of the horizontal deflection of the wheel group should be specified in the technical conditions for the manufacture of the gantry crane.

Check whether the wheel set is worn

1. Check the cooperation between the wheel assembly and the gantry crane shaft.

2. The wheels should be replaced in the following cases:

3. The uniform wear of the rolling surface of the wheel assembly reaches 15-20% of the original wheel rim thickness.

4. The wear of the gantry crane wheel assembly rim is more than 60% of the original thickness.

5. The rolling surface of the wheel assembly is unevenly worn or fatigued and peeled off, forming unevenness

Quality requirements for new wheel sets

1. The wheel set should be free of cracks; the rolling surface should be smooth without uneven parts.

2. The gantry crane wheel set shaft hole cooperation size tolerance should meet the design requirements.

3. A pair of coaxially rotating driving wheels should be replaced in pairs, and the diameter error should not be greater than 0.0005 times the diameter. The diameter error of the two driven wheels should not be greater than 0.002 times the diameter.

Wheel set quality requirements

1. The gantry crane wheel set should be firmly matched with the shaft, and the swing amplitude should not exceed 0.10mm.

2. The inclination of the wheel set in the vertical direction should not exceed 1mm.

3. The support surface of the two bearing boxes of the wheel set should be parallel to the center plane of the wheel width, and the error should not exceed 0.07mm.

4. The position of the gantry crane wheel set should make the center plane of its width coincide with the symmetry center of the two bearing boxes.
