Routine Maintenance of Bridge Crane Hooks

Crane hook is a very critical component in lifting machinery, usually classified according to the materials used, manufacturing process, use and other factors.

Routine Maintenance of Bridge Crane Hooks

1. Wipe the main hook clean.

2. lubricate wheels, swivelling parts and other parts with grease nipples; and

3. check all bolts and screws, make sure all openings for sale are complete and open the openings; and

4. check that sheave grooves and rims are worn evenly, that wire rope and sheave grooves match, and that sheaves are not loose or wobbly; and

5. Ensure that the rotating part of the hook rotates freely and the clearance cannot be too large. If it is difficult to rotate or there is a sense of jamming, check whether the bearings and bushings are damaged or insufficiently lubricated; 6.

6. Check the overload damage of the main hook.

7. Check side plate elongation, aperture elongation, bolt bending or elongation, cracks, etc.; and

8. Check the anti-decoupling device.

1. Before using the hook, pay attention to check the wear of the surface. In case of severe wear, the spreader shall be replaced. In general, the wear and tear of the hook should not exceed one tenth of the original surface area.

2. Secondly, it is necessary to check whether there are cracks, white spots and other bad qualities inside the hook. If there are, the hook attachment should be replaced with a new one in time.

3. The threads of the hook shall not be corroded or rusted, and defects on the hook shall not be welded, such as the defects mentioned above.

4. When using the overhead travelling crane, care should be taken to operate it in accordance with the specification, and the equipment should conform to the corresponding standards.
