Technical requirements for steel plate welding drums

1. The drum is made of Q345B steel plate cold rolled and welded;
2. The horizontal and vertical joints of the drum body should be butt-jointed with grooves according to the requirements of the drawings. If the segmented manufacturing and ring welding are used for butt joint, the longitudinal welds should be staggered by >90°. All butt welds are subjected to 100% UT flaw detection inspection, and the weld quality is inspected and accepted according to AWS standards. The welding rod material is E5015;
3. The drum body and end plate are subjected to UT and MT inspections respectively according to the requirements of the drawings. The welds between the end plate and the shaft are subjected to 100% MT flaw detection inspection, and no cracks in any direction are allowed;
4. Stress treatment is performed on the drum after welding;
5. After machining, install the pressure plate and bolts for static balance, unbalance grade G6.3, allowable eccentricity e=0.8mm, allowable unbalance mass on the drum wall, M=1.6G/Dokg (G drum weight, Do-diameter of the balance weight), balance weight is symmetrically attached along the length of the drum, material is Q235, fillet weld;
6. Remove sharp edges and corners;
7. The drum surface rope groove is quenched HB300~380;
8. The drum short shaft is 35 steel, normalized and tempered, and chemical composition, hardness (HB=149~187), and ultrasonic flaw detection are carried out before welding. It can be installed and welded only after meeting the factory standard requirements;
9. The drum is rounded after stress relief welding, and the cylindricality is less than or equal to 3mm;
10. Except for the shaft extension, the inside and outside of the drum are painted according to the company standard.
Advantages of steel plate welding drum

The advantages are small outer diameter tolerance, uniform wall thickness, etc., and the main thing is that it will not damage the performance of the raw materials.

The use of large-diameter steel pipe drums increases the diameter ratio of the drum and the wire rope, and extends the service life of the wire rope. The large-diameter drum has a small length, which reduces the introduction angle of the wire rope and reduces the wear of the wire rope in and out of the rope groove.
