The forged wheel is the core part of the crane operation mechanism, which is installed on the end beam of the bridge crane or the leg of the gantry crane, supporting the crane and load to travel, and the working pressure is larger and the strength is higher. Therefore, the quality requirements of crane wheels are higher. At present, the types of materials used for forging wheels are mainly 65#, 65Mn, 42CrMo and so on.
Forged wheel material
1. 65# Forged wheels
65# steel, medium to high spring steel. The steel manufacturing crane forging wheel, after heat treatment or cold hardening has high strength, hardness and elasticity, cold deformation plasticity is low, weldability is not good, generally using oil quenching, large section parts using water quenching oil cold or normalizing treatment hardening. Its characteristic is that its fatigue strength can be comparable to that of alloy spring steel under the same configuration.
Heat treatment process: 810℃ normalizing, quenching temperature 780-830℃, oil or water cooling; Tempering temperature 400-600℃.
2. 65Mn Forged wheels
65Mn spring steel, after heat treatment and cold drawing hardening, high strength, has a certain toughness and plasticity; In the same surface state and fully quenched condition, the fatigue limit is comparable to that of alloy springs. Through manganese to improve the hardenability, Φ12mm steel oil can be quenched, the surface decarburization tendency is smaller than silicon steel, after heat treatment of the comprehensive mechanical properties are better than carbon steel, but there is overheating sensitivity and temper brittleness.
Annealing process: annealing temperature (860±10)℃, heat preservation 45-60min, furnace cooling to (750±10)℃, heat preservation 3–3.5h, after the furnace cooling 650-660℃, the oven pile cold or into the insulation pit slow cooling. Metallographic structure meets the requirements: pearlite structure 2.5–6 grade, with about 4 grade as the best, the process yield 80%-100%.
65Mn steel plate strength, hardness, elasticity and hardenability are higher than 65 steel, with overheating sensitivity and tempering brittleness tendency, water quenching has a tendency to crack. The machinability of annealed state is reasonable, the cold deformation plasticity is low, and the weldability is poor.
3. 42CrMo forged wheels
42CrMo steel is ultra-high strength steel, with high strength and toughness, hardenability is also good, no obvious tempering brittleness, high fatigue limit and resistance to multiple shocks after tempering treatment, low temperature impact toughness is good.
Ordinary quenching and tempering specifications: quenching temperature 1000~1050℃, quenching oil or quenching gas, hardness ≥ 60HRC, tempering temperature 160~180℃, tempering time 2h, or tempering temperature 325~375℃, tempering times 2~3 times.
